Slack vs Microsoft Teams
If the company already pays for Microsoft 365, Teams is rarely “free,” but it is already on the invoice. Slack is the clearer collaboration product. The grade depends on whether IT will run the stack.

Teams as the bundled option
Teams scores well when identity, email, and files already live in Microsoft. Frontline licenses exist, but hourly teams still bounce off email-based onboarding. The grader treats that as a real cost, not a footnote.
Slack as the specialist
Slack wins on channels, apps, and agent workflows when the company will pay for them and is not already locked to Microsoft. Switching later is not “export a ZIP.” Direct messages and workflows do not migrate cleanly.
